The Detroit born producer Prolyphic The Professional enters the game with a different approach and outlook on things. Honing his skills in the dorms at Tennessee State University, the man they now call "Pro" has seen the ups and downs of the independent industry. Pro has been through it all from funding his own projects, to bogus contracts, to having his music stolen on two different ocassions. Why would anyone want to steal recordings from an artist who is virtually unknown? His distinct sound is one that immediately puts you in his mood upon listening, thus making it easier on the artist to conjure up lyrics to. With a very conceptual style, Pro's growth and confidence in his music stemmed from his long gone uncertainty with his art. "I started out just like all the others in the game. I was freestylin' at home or wherever when I was alone. I thought it was terrible until I just let loose one day. Once I thought I was kinda nice, I would do it in front of friends. Once people caught wind of it, they wanted to work with me on some stuff. But since around 2000, I was secretly trying to make beats and caught on to that, making myself more marketable." (Pro).
With the influences of producers known for an eerie and refreshingly different sound, Pro has taken a backseat to the upfront emceeing and has been producing tracks for independent artists in his circle. Prolyphic is best known around the local Detroit Hip-Hop scene for producing "Bossin' Up" for D.R.G. and "Rep My City" for EQ Entertainment artist C Dell. He has also done work with Lock, a Detroit based rapper affiliated with Sick Notes Productions, Kopelli, Jacobi, Dubbs of 2BF Records and countless others. To date, The Professional has released his debut production Prolyphic The Professional presents . . . Emancipation: The Compilation, along with C-Dell's Training Day The Mixtape featuring a handful of original production by The Professional. The follow up mixtape/EP from C-Dell is the next project in line. Pro has just completed his first official album release entitled "The Prophiles." Pro issued a statement about The Prophiles calling it "the first official album release from me which will be coincide with the launch of my official website "MusicByPro.com. The album is available through my site as well as others." The album features all new material from Pro and collaborations with a number of artists, notably C Dell, Kopelli, Jacobi, Dubbs, Ace of Klean Boy Ent., Focus and others.
In 2010 the release of Prolyphic's first musical experience "Everybody Hates Preaux" was Pro's first instrumental album. The project will includes work from Pro's past as well as brand new material, however, ALL track were unheard until this release. The project was entirely produced by Prolyphic and is available FREE at www.MusicByPro.com to download.
Pro is currently seeking out new and raw talent to feature on upcoming tracks and projects as well. "I hope we can get the ball rolling on things and bring this lyph music to the people. This is more than music, it's a movement and if you're moving in our direction we're stepping toward improvement. Free up. Peace!"
